Hi, I’m Barb Klein.
After a friend once called me “a Possibilitator,” I happily adopted the term. I’ve never loved traditional labels, but this one feels right. To me, it speaks to being open to possibility — and helping others uncover fresh perspective and new paths forward.
As the founder of Inspired Possibility, an Invitation to Change facilitator, Grief Movement Guide, meditation instructor, retreat leader, and author of 111 Invitations: Step into the Full Richness of Life, I create group experiences that help people find clarity, courage, and possibility as they step into the next chapter of their lives.
Where this Work Comes From
Throughout my life, I’ve learned to embrace my inner rebel. With her guidance, I’ve walked away from what “made sense” and toward what felt true. I’ve stood for what seemed impossible. I’ve held onto dreams others said couldn’t happen. And I have walked through deep personal fires — most profoundly as the mother of a young man who struggled with, and ultimately lost his life to, substance use disorder.
That journey reshaped me. It taught me how to live with tremendous pain — and still choose meaning, purpose, and possibility.
I am here for the mighty, feisty warrior who refuses to live by someone else’s script. For those ready to blaze their own trail. For those reclaiming the self that may have been lost in life’s fires.
Invitation to Change
I am a certified facilitator in the Invitation to Change (ITC) approach — a family recovery model grounded in Motivational Interviewing, CRAFT (Community Reinforcement and Family Training), and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy). ITC integrates compassion and science, empowering families to create conditions for change while caring well for themselves.
This work is more than professional training — it is lived conviction. I have seen this approach soften hardened conversations, restore dignity, and create connection where families once felt hopeless and alone. ITC opens doors that felt permanently closed and builds relationships where love had been buried beneath fear and conflict. It changed my family. And it continues to change the lives of families I have the honor to walk alongside.
As a mom who has navigated both substance use disorder and profound loss, I am committed to creating something meaningful from this experience. I lead groups for family members impacted by a loved one’s substance use and create retreats and programs that support people in prioritizing their well-being and finding peace and possibility beyond the pain.
Change Begins Within
Through groups, retreats, workshops, writing, and speaking, I help people come home to themselves. I am a fierce advocate for self-care as the foundation upon which everything else is built. I support people in bringing self-compassion, mindfulness, and intentional living into their daily lives — independent of their loved one’s choices or outcomes.
My book, 111 Invitations: Step into the Full Richness of Life, emerged from my own healing journey. It invites you to show up for life as it is — not as it was, not as you wish it to be, but as it stands before you now.
I live in Western New York with my husband. I love being on the water, practicing yoga, cooking good food, singing and dancing to great music, traveling, and finding ways to live life fully. I am the proud mother of two beautiful young men, and I am deeply grateful for this life we share.
I support people through groups designed for connection, healing, and growth. Through Invitation to Change groups, I walk alongside families impacted by substance use. Through retreats and programs, I create space for deeper self-connection, sustainable self-care, and mindful, intentional living.
I love collaborating with organizations and teams to design customized workshops and retreats that nurture self-awareness, compassion, wellness, and strong working relationships.
Real change begins within. When we are willing to pause, look inward, and grow, new possibilities unfold.
Training & Experience
Since 2021, I have been a Certified Addiction Recovery Coach (CARC), supporting individuals and families impacted by substance use disorder through group programming and recovery-focused education.
In 2022, I completed certification as an Invitation to Change Facilitator through the Center for Motivation and Change’s Foundation for Change, along with additional CRAFT training with Dr. Robert Meyers.
I am a certified Grief Movement Guide, trained by Paul Denniston, founder of Grief Yoga, and a Tai Chi for Recovery facilitator trained by Theresa Knorr. These embodied practices complement meditation and group reflection, helping people move emotion through the body and into greater grounding and empowerment.
I previously held ICF-ACC certification (2017–2023) after training with Coach U and have years of experience guiding individuals and groups through meaningful change.
I am also a certified Meditation Instructor, trained through the Open Heart Project with Susan Piver and Jenna Hollenstein.
Earlier in my career, I served as a nonprofit program director supporting parents navigating the education system for children with disabilities, ran a Reiki practice, and worked in education and lending. Teaching, in many forms, has always been central to my life. I love gently inviting people beyond their comfort zones as they stretch toward their fullest selves.
✨ If you’re curious to hear more about my journey and the heart behind my work, you’re welcome to explore the podcast conversations linked on my Home and Events pages.
