You are amazing at caring for everyone!
From the moment you wake up, your mind begins composing today’s to-do list… thinking of the needs of your children, job, clients, community, friends, partner, pet... Notice who’s not on the list?
You hurry out of bed to begin making phone calls, making lists,setting up appointments, and holding everyone's stuff in your head. Before you even hit the shower you’re feeling overwhelmed and behind. The day proceeds with meetings, appointments, and commitments, along with demands from others. Your thoughts and worries about your loved ones stay with you throughout the day and intrude into your other activities, taking away from creativity and productivity, not to mention peace and well-being.
My guess is you have super high expectations for yourself and a bar set so high that an Olympic pole-vaulter couldn’t possibly leap over it. You’re great at driving yourself and striving to do more and be more. You don’t know any other way. By the time your head hits the pillow at night, you’re exhausted and feel a sense of dread that this may never change.
Where does that leave you?
In the midst of it all, you pride yourself on being a reliable caregiver, a dependable employee, a loyal friend, or an excellent business owner. Someone who can always be counted on. And, slowly, bit by bit, you lose yourself. What truly matters to you? What do you need? What do you want? What IS satisfying and fulfilling to you? You know what society expects of you, but what does success mean to you? What is it you’re most wanting to create?
You don't even know what you want or need any more. You're in the "between space" between where you are and the somewhere out there you'd like to be that you can't yet see.
You get the concept of self-care, and have a sense that it’s something you should be doing, but honestly can’t imagine where you could fit anything more into an already over-packed schedule. It feels like something that’s expensive and time-consuming. Not to mention selfish and wrong to make yourself and your self-care a priority. You have been conditioned to believe that you’re here to take care of everyone else!
It's time for a different way...
Somewhere within you something stirs and tells you things could be different. A slight spark, a glimmer of hope, a small belief in a different possibility of a different way. This life of just getting through each day, fixing and figuring things out, often for other people, is not enough. You find yourself beyond depleted. You find yourself yearning for something else. It’s time to regroup, recharge, and begin again. It’s time to know you, honor you, and BE you! But how?
This is why I’ve created Coming Home Coaching!
There is hope!
I have been this woman. I know her well, and I do admire her strength, courage, tenacity and persistence. And, I know that this way of being is not sustainable. I know that it’s too easy to not only lose ourselves, but to actively abandon ourselves, our dreams, our needs, to the needs of others.
Maybe you’ve read a bunch of self-help and personal growth books (I know I have!); you’ve probably tried getting support from friends who are just as overwhelmed as you are or from your partner; or maybe you’ve just tried the Superhero approach of pushing through and going it alone!
It’s so much easier to make changes in your life when you have a partner, a professional coach, who is invested in your well-being, but not personally tied up in your life. Sometimes friends and family members are just a bit too close to really be able to hear you and support you in the way you need.
Until we deeply know ourselves, there’s no way to really care for ourselves. Until we care for ourselves, there’s really no way to effectively do the things we want to do or care for others and there's certainly no way to bring our fullest expression of self out to the world.
Within you lies untapped wisdom and untapped gifts just waiting to come out. There is also an untapped loyalty to yourself. When you can access these things, you stop trying to be who everyone else wants you to be or who you think you should be, and you find an energy from which you can truly transform your life and the world around you.
It's time to Come Home to the many aspects of you! To no longer abandon yourself to "should's" or other people's needs or expectations...
What does it mean to come home?
- meeting yourself where you are with kindness, compassion, curiosity, and wonder
- waking up... to your tendencies, patterns, beliefs, hopes, needs, values, dreams and desires. Waking up to the possibility that things could be different.
- shaking things up so that you can choose a new way of being and so that you can choose who you want to be in this next chapter of your life.
- unlearning and letting go of things that no longer serve or support you in order to make room for something new
- re-setting your nervous system, your beliefs, your choices, and the way you move through your days so that you are creating a solid foundation for the life you'd like.
- empowering yourself as you let go of feeling that you are a victim to other people or other circumstances. You get to see yourself in a new light and to claim your gifts, strengths as you also see where you get in your own way.
- awakening to and aligning with your soul's imperative - connecting with that life force within you that lights you up, makes you feel alive, and calls you to be all that you can be. Lighting the spark within until it become a flame that will carry you forward.
- showing up to your life now - not putting things on hold until the stars align or everything is in order. Your life is ready for you to live it, in all of its messiness and all of its glory.
It means making yourself your #1 commitment, #1 investment, and #1 priority because your well-being is the basis for everything else you want to do, have, be, and create!
I ask for an initial commitment of 6 months because I know that true change takes time. You didn't get here overnight, so you can't expect to change things in just a session or two.
Through this transformative work, you will get to know yourself so that you can honor yourself so that you can be free to be your most amazing self!
How Does Coming Home to Yourself Coaching Work?
In our coaching sessions, we will look at where you are today, where you’d like to go, what’s getting in the way, what will support you, and what next steps will help you to bridge that gap.
THIS PROGRAM INCLUDES:
1. Custom scheduled individual coaching sessions, 2 60-minute sessions/month, scheduled over a 6-month period. We meet by phone.
2. Laser text or phone calls between sessions: This is a more immediate way to get some quick support or feedback when you find yourself stuck or needing some encouragement (or have a super great win you want to share!). You can text me between sessions and if you need to talk, we will schedule a time to have a chat.
3. Unlimited email support between sessions: Sometimes situations, challenges, insights, or celebrations happen between sessions. Should that be the case, you are free to reach out to me via email and I’ll reply within one business day.
4. A few, specific next steps to take between sessions: Part of what contributes to coaching success is this gentle accountability and focused planning. My objective is to keep you moving forward toward your vision in a way and at a pace that works for you. Having a few, clear key steps to take makes this easier and less overwhelming.
5. I'm on your team: When I work with clients, I know what’s up for them, what they’re struggling with and what they’re working on. So when I come across articles, podcasts, or meditations that might support them in the moment, I will forward them on to you. The coaching package basically has me on retainer, looking for ways to keep your momentum going, even when we are not meeting one-to-one.
