Come Home to Yourself Retreat:
An Oasis for Heart & Soul
July 24-27, 2025
at Light on the Hill Retreat Center,
nestled in the heart of the Finger Lakes of western NY
We are living in challenging times. It's hard to catch a breath some days.
When things outside of you feel chaotic and out of control, it's critically important to make time to go within. To tune in and connect with inner wisdom, guidance, and strength. To come together with others so that we can join our hearts and energy in what we want to create. It's easy to lose yourself in a world of obligations, expectations, and roles. You may be asking: Who am I? What matters most to me? What am I here to do, to create? How do I want to show up and engage with life? What gifts do I bring to the world? Do you find yourself putting others' needs before your own? Do you even know what you need or want? Have you given more than you had to give? Are you feeling worn out, drained, and depleted? It's vital to find a way to nourish and care for ourselves. Retreat gives a chance to step away, slow down, and reconnect with yourself. Retreat offers an oasis - time and space to calm your nervous system and replenish your energy. It gives us time to honor ourselves deeply and powerfully within a circle of people longing to do the same. It is in the slowing down and going within that wisdom can arise. In this nourishing and fulfilling retreat, we will: - Slow down, quiet down, and tune in to connect with our inner wisdom and guidance - Make space for reflection, rest, and renewal - Cultivate a foundation of self-care, self-compassion, and self-honoring - Strengthen the ground we stand on - Discover the peace, power, and joy that is available in an authentically-lived life - Allow sacred silence When we come home to ourselves, we strengthen our reserves and lean into our inner wisdom and true guidance. We are less easily rattled by life's circumstances and can return more quickly to center when we are. "It is especially tempting in times of transition and challenge to abandon our homes, to leave our territory, in search of answers, perhaps by worrying about what will happen in the future. This is precisely the moment when we need to return to the present moment, feel our bodies, and take good care of ourselves now. Because the future is made of this moment. If we take good care of this moment, even if it is very difficult, we are taking good care of the future." - Kaira Jewel Lingo, We Were Made for These Times |
Please bring a journal and pen, dress comfortably in layers,
and bring whatever else will make you comfortable during our weekend.
The schedule will allow for several hours of time
each afternoon when you are free
to deepen your connection
with yourself in your own way
(a number of suggested possibilities will be offered).
You may choose to walk the labyrinth, meditate, journal, explore the beautiful 200+ acres,
or enjoy a nap during this time.
Or you may want to bring along some supplies for your own
creating, drawing, writing, reading, meditating…
anything that will support you in slowing down and going within.
Weather permitting, we will have a campfire on at least one of our evenings.

Here’s what others have said about Barb’s retreats:
I love going to retreats because they're a way for me to get back to what's important--me. It's a time for me to leave work at work and home at home and just simply be and reconnect with myself. A chance to really listen to what my inner voice is telling me, to nurture my soul and my body with rest and renewal. It's a moment in time for me to take care of myself and to let go and enjoy the unique energy that's created when a group of beautiful like-minded people connect authentically, heart to heart. Barb creates a beautiful and safe place for me to do all of this.

I cannot tell you how wonderful my experience has been on the retreats I have attended with Barb! To be able to take the time for myself, in a safe place, to reconnect with my genuine self, re-energize and re-empower myself to come back out into this crazy world is a priceless gift!! I am so grateful to Barb for the work she does and the opportunities she creates for people, like me, who need to Retreat, Regroup and then Return.
